I got a job! I think, ha! I was offered the job, but was told I couldn't have the specifics about starting date, etc, until my last reference was turned in. So I've been waiting it out over the weekend. It's with the domestic version of the Peace Corps. So Stephen and I went out for a nice afternoon lunch/drinks to celebrate! It's been a looong 7+ months of unemployment. Unfortunately, this position has an absolutely terrible salary, so I'll still be struggling to make ends meet. At least my drink was delicious :)
I got a beer-making kit from Williams-Sonoma as a present for Stephen. Our 5-year anniversary is on Friday, so I thought this could be something really fun to do together! I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
Super cute tiny gnoma AND polka dots? No folks, it really doesn't get any cuter than this.
I got the Made by Rae Washi pattern the day it came out. I'd been waiting anxiously for it! I haven't had a free afternoon to sew it up [I want to wear it Friday!] but my favorite part about the pattern so far is that the pattern lines for each size are in a different color, which I find immensely helpful as compared to dashes and dots as is typical in patterns. And yes, I plan to make a dress, a tunic, and a shirt with those fabrics.
Found some pictures of my drawings from years past. Charcoal is my favorite medium. Looking into my drawing past was prompted by a little side endeavor that I have going on...
...I'm creating a dream fabric design portfolio. I've drawn up a collection and have chosen a beautiful color palette. I personally love it. Nothing will probably ever come of it, but it was fun to do. It's inspired by Celtic and Native American art. That's my drawing-turned-tattoo and is a good representation of the kind of drawing that I do today!
